Mira Que te Miro
We participate with other networks that promote the regional initiative Mira Que te Miro (MQTM). This is a social monitoring process within the framework of the Montevideo Consensus on Population and Development. MQTM follows up the commitments on sexual and reproductive rights assumed in the Consensus, in terms of legislation throughout Latin America and the Caribbean on 11 different topics related to sexual justice, reproductive justice and health.
The objectives of this social monitoring process are the following:
- Strengthen accountability through monitoring the fulfillment with the commitments made by governments in the Montevideo Consensus directly related to sexual and reproductive health and rights.
- Strengthen transparency and access to information, with its function as a repository of data (laws, policies, programs, protocols) related to SRH.
- Consolidate civil society’s capacities for advocacy in favor of the implementation of the Montevideo Consensus. This is facilitated by the increase of knowledge on how to access information and the capability to know the normative frameworks and the commitments assumed by governments in the field of SRH.
- Strengthen the spaces for dialogue between civil organizations and the governments to further improve the implementation of the Consensus with a purposeful and collaborative framework
